Selecting and Using Multiple Scanners with RemoteScan
If you are a user that has more than one imaging device on your machine and you want
your application on the Terminal or Citrix Server to be able to
access all of these devices, then you will need to select multiple devices in the RemoteScan
User Interface on the local workstation. Each of the devices that you select from within the RemoteScan
application on the local workstation will then become available to select from within the RemoteScan
UI when you perform a scan.
The process is straightforward. First, insure that you have at least one of your devices selected by
right clicking on the RemoteScan icon in the system tray of your computer and then go to "Choose
a TWAIN scanner" or "Choose a WIA scanner." Make sure that you have at least one device selected with
a check mark next to it as shown below:
Now that you are certain you have the first device selected, go ahead and right-click on the icon again
and go to "Choose a TWAIN scanner" (or whatever your device type is) and place your mouse pointer on
top of the next device you would like to select, but do not click on it.
Now, instead of clicking on the device, press the "CTRL" key combined with the "s" key on the
keyboard. The CTRL-s combo will allow you to select as many of your devices as you would like. When
you right-click on the icon and go to "Choose a TWAIN scanner" it should look something like this:
Now go into your scanning application
on the Terminal or Citrix server and perform a scan. Inside of the RemoteScan scanning UI you
will see each of the selected devices displayed in the RemoteScan Server drop down list as shown below.
You can now select whichever device you would like to use to acquire your image and can change it on the fly.
